One of the easiest ways to shop locally and seasonally- and avoid all that well-traveled food- are farmers markets. The Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne Australia is the largest open air market in the Southern Hemisphere and most of its produce is local to Victoria.

In this video, Melbourne resident Katrina Ellis took us shopping for local, seasonal produce and explained how Australia's proposed plastic bag ban will hardly effect many of the Queen Vic shoppers (BYO shopping carts are the trend here).
