Until we all start building cradle-to-cradle homes and reworking floors and furnishings to be used again, this obsession for new means a lot of wasted fixtures, floors, sinks and mantlepieces.

A growing market for architectural salvage is helping keep some of these castoffs out of the landfills. In this video, we stopped in at Manhattan’s salvage shop Olde Good Things for a tour of their architectural treasures.
