A composting bag: lazy person’s compost

If you’re interested turning your garbage into compost- to support the planet and/or your plants- there is a very simple option. Before you buy worms (a much faster method) or build a compost bin, you can take a baby step into composting.

You simply take a large plastic bag and poke holes in it, throw in your organic waste- both browns (i.e. dead leaves) and greens (i.e. grass clippings or kitchen waste)- and wait a month or two. Stir once in awhile. We at faircompanies decided to give it a try on our city apartment terrace.

In this video, we open the bag three months into our experiment.
