A composting toilet and humanure for the garden

While you can buy a low flush toilet, to truly save water, you need to stop flushing, that is, get rid of your water closet altogether.

While composting toilets might once have been relegated to backpackers, today, there are commercial buildings like the University of British Columbia’s C.K. Choi building that only offers composting loos for their 300 employees.

In this video, Laura Allen of California’s Greywater Guerrillas shows us her composting toilet, the bins where the household’s waste sits for a year, and the mature humanure she sprinkles on her garden.
