Dish soap as pesticide (with a little help from good bugs)

If you’re going to grow your own organic produce, you need to arm yourself with other tools to fight the bad bugs, besides pesticides.

When Patty Silva-Hicks tore up her front lawn to plant fruit trees and a vegetable garden, she decided to go organic. So now, instead of using “those real aggressive sprays”, she decided to opt for more natural remedies for fighting pests.

In this video, Silva-Hicks shows us the worm on her Swiss Chard (okay by her as long as they leave her enough to eat) and talks about using a dish soap wash (like the greywater her grandmother used on her garden) and “good bugs” like praying mantises and ladybugs.
