Mountain man’s salvaged home walkthru: Black Kettle’s Idaho life

“Black Kettle”, a self-described “mountain man”, hasn’t lived in a home since 1974 which might explain why he chose to build his own when he finally opted for a roof over his head.

On a friend’s property in Idaho, he built himself what he calls a house from scrap. Short of the insulation just about everything is salvaged or secondhand.

In this video, Black Kettle shows us his windows from a remodel job, the old fence posts he used for exterior walls, his outdoor bed, and backyard garden with corn and amaranth.
