The carbon footprint of SuChin's refrigerator

Given that 20% of the fossil fuels used in the US goes toward food production and the growing use of crops to power our cars, food = fuel in more ways than one. So our long-standing problem of food waste suddenly seems more pronounced. In the UK, one-third of all food bought is thrown away, or the CO2 equivalent of 20% of cars on the road. In the US, food is the 3rd largest component in landfills and the average family wastes about $600 worth of food annually, 15% of which isn’t even opened nor expired.

For a closer look at how easy it is to forget what’s in your fridge, in this video, we go inside SuChin Pak’s refrigerator and talk about making lists and checking them twice.
