The trouble with lawns: a walk through Sun Valley, Idaho

Americans love their lawns so much that grass has become the most irrigated “crop” in the country. Up to ten times more pesticides are used on lawns per acre than on crops.

On a recent trip to Sun Valley, Idaho, faircompanies’ Kirsten Dirksen and family examined our mania for lawns as well as alternative natural landscapes and nitrogen-fixing lupines.
