It’s a fraternity where the environment is the focus: it’s not just service-oriented (though they do stream cleanups and native species removal), but they meet up over local, vegan food and they’ve even thrown a party without electricity.
Started back in 2006 at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Epsilon Eta is the country’s first environmental honors fraternity. It was originally founded to promote scientific research, as well as its use to foment a more sustainable society, but when we visited their rush event at the beginning of their 4th year, we met more lawyers and urban planners than scientists.
