The US EPA estimates that 10.6 million tons of textiles were generated in 2003, that's about 80 pounds per person. Given that our wardrobes are becoming increasingly more disposable, this number will probably just get worse… unless we skip a trip to H&M or the Gap, and opt for a recycled fashion shopping spree.
