Green cleaning in a bottle (no phosphates nor phthalates)

The campaign against conventional cleaning products has gone mainstream. The U.S. National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) has even issued a warning to school kids that “some of the strong ingredients in cleaning products could damage the liver, lungs or kidney. Some of them have been linked to cancer.”

With this more informed consumer base, the market for green cleaning has grown. Brands like Ecover , Method, Mrs. Meyers and Caldrea are substituting phosphates and phthalates for actives ingredients like soap bark extract, olive oil, enzymes, hydrogen peroxide and enzymes.

In this video, Amanda Parrish from the San Francisco green home store Spring shows us the options for less toxic cleaning.
