One way to reduce the number of cars on the road is to share them. Carsharing programs don't just cut vehicle numbers; when each trip has an obvious pricetag, their members learn to use their cars more efficiently. According to one study, 57% of new carshare members in Switzerland drove less with the program and 50% in Germany.
