No matter how small your apartment, composting is an option. Thanks to the incredible digestive systems of red worms, all you will need is a tupperware container with a few holes in it. And about 1000 composting worms (purchaseable online). SungBin Park from the Lower East Side Ecology Center gives us an intro course on how to use a worm bin to turn your food waste into top quality soil for your houseplants.
Note: For demonstration purposes Sung Bin uses a light colored bin, but worms are photophobic so a non-transparent bin should be used in practice.
We also have a step-by-step DIY guide on How to make an indoor worm bin.
