Who knew that the biggest producers of solar panels are in China and the US? Most my fellow Dutchmen and women are amazed to hear that. And shocked really.
About 10 to 12 years ago the Netherlands were internationally recognized as one of the most inventive and progressive countries in the world. Now we are looking on as the sustainable world accelerates without us.
Right now we are focused on stuff like the hydrogen car to purchase
for the schools project. Other items on our list of wanna-haves are a
backpack full of solar cells, an Ecosphere and new inventive scale
wind turbine’s.
Thanks for the link on the producer of the hydrogen fuel cell toy car, it was
hard to find from here. Funny that it is in China indeed.
The image here of China is generally that they are about to destroy the climate as we are trying to save it. This is not true at all.

In the meantime, we want rain! Not a single drop of rain has blessed my country for almost 40 days now. It’s all good to have an early summer, but this is ridiculous.
For weeks now temperatures have been about 10 degrees celcius higher then normal. Most people just enjoy it and don’t consider the problems for farming or the water shortage that’s about to kick in. I try to see it as an opportunity to talk about the climate. I hope it will rain soon, also because my garden is only just hanging in there.
