Body Time opened their doors in 1970 as a small shop where soaps were hand-cut and customers brought back their bottles for a refill and a discount. In the past 35 years they’ve changed their name- they sold their original name to the multinational The Body Shop, and became Body Time- and customers no longer show up just for the custom blended perfumes and soaps, but for their natural, organic or fair trade products or their mainly plant-based botanical line.
We talked to Body Time manager Kristin Wardinsky about their origins, the small business suppliers and why everything can’t be organic.
