Solar power is no longer just for techies or celebrities, like Leonardo DiCaprio, Carlos Santana or Edward Norton. Thanks to banks, which now consider solar to be a capital home improvement and are making financing readily available, and to the increase in state rebates- offered for solar or wind by just 3 states in 2000 has jumped to 17 in 2006- solar panels are becoming within reach of the average American.
With the new California Solar Initiative, homeowners in the Sunshine State will receive a third of the $3.2 billion in rebates over 10 years.
