In a small town outside of San Francisco, residents are working to improve their community’s footprint on the environment.
The town was one of the first to sign climate change legislation, as well as to pass pesticide and plastic bag bans. The group Sustainable Fairfax is taking those efforts further and helping residents make the political personal.
In this video, gardener Pam Hartwell-Herrero showed us the Sustainable Backyard demo with its brush piles, herb spirals, swales, rain chains, worm bin, composting and food production.
