Investment in cleantech has been growing steadily since venture capitalists began to put their money here 10 years ago, but 2006 was a banner year with VC investment in energy-tech start-ups increasing by 262% (according to Clean Edge/Nth Power’s Clean-Energy Trends 2007 report).
Where is all this money going? Solar, wind and water or smart homes and plug-in hybrids. It depends on who you talk to. To get some views from the inside, we listened in on the Greenvest 2007 panel “Helping investors make more green through green investing” and talked to a few venture capitalists on their clean bets.
